This project involved creating a run of fitted cupboards with upper bookcases.

The lower cupboard carcasses were made from white MFC (Melamine Faced Chipboard) but with chunky 22mm thick solid MR (Moisture Resistant) MDF doors. The upper bookcases were all made from 22mm MR MDF, which is stronger and denser than standard 18mm MDF, allowing a longer shelf span.

All external MDF parts were spray finished with the usual Sayerlack AT99 spcialist spray paint, this time in a F&B Schoolhouse White colour. A small coving was also added to the ceiling to give the bookcase a slightly more traditional look, which complements the solid pewter handles nicely.
