[2024] Dressing Room
This project was another first for Seagull Carpentry; designing, manufacturing and installing an entire dressing room complete with a 3 section L-shaped wardrobe, a standalone shelving unit and 3 sets of floating shelves.
The first set of photos show the exterior of the units, painted in a 5% sheen (very matt) Farrow & Ball Brassica colour. All of the wardrobe doors were made in a traditional manner with a thicker 22mm outer frame and thinner 9mm inner panels set into grooves (housings) in the frame. The solid brass handles complement the units beautifully.
The second set of photos show the interior, which is made out of a Melamine Faced Chipboard (MFC) board called “Anthracite Mountain Larch“ by Egger. The units are 2.5m tall so contain a large amount of storage space, and hence we were able to split the units into a mix of shelving, hanging and drawers. One additional touch which worked really well here was to add 155 degree hinges to the door of the corner wardrobe, which allows really easy access into what would normally be an awkward corner space.
